Working
with layers of cyanotype and van dyke imagery on silk organza, Ayre creates
multi-layered shadow plays. Animated with movement (literally blown by
small fans) these translucent panels are contact printed with images from
island plants, favorite flowers, and friends’ gardens. Ayre’s
multi-panel pieces form a virtual garden "grown" from the same
sunlight needed by the plants whose shadows are traced here.
