Jennifer Crane delves into historic myths and accounts about women who went to sea. Often using herself as model, Crane creates a faux 19th century archive of female adventurers and fishwives, Katyuska Doleatto creates another sort of mythical creature, partly organic, partly synthetic, and fully imaginary, in her Rebirth series.
