Working from a conceptual framework based in photography, with its attendant discourses around selection, framing, index, document, and archive, Cuevas’s work is constantly probing misunderstanding, translation, and fragmentation. Attacking existing documents such as books, and playfully engaging in puns, Cuevas questions the process of receiving and transmitting information.
