Tueri: A Look Within

Natalie Schonfeld

Natalie Schonfeld, Tueri: A Look Within, 1997, detail, black and white print.

Natalie Schonfeld explores the notion of faith in an effort to communicate her unique and complex spirituality. This series of black-and-white photographs in various sizes and styles has, at its core, a distinct relationship to social documentary. But unlike the work of traditional documentarians who make claims of objectivity and verisimilitude, Schonfeld uses this style to speak of her personal spiritual quest.

Natalie Schonfeld is a native of Caracas, Venezuela who has lived in Toronto since 1991.
