Suzanne Barnes has created a series of luminous colour self-portraits. The artist draws on her background as a painter and a dancer, performing for the camera in front of a painted back-drop. In these works, she plumbs the depths of her identity as a woman, and explores her unique relationship to pleasure, pain and desire. Suzanne Barnes is an artist and teacher who lives and works in Toronto. Tueri: A Look Within Natalie Schonfeld
Natalie Schonfeld explores the notion of faith in an effort to communicate her unique and complex spirituality. This series of black-and-white photographs in various sizes and styles has, at its core, a distinct relationship to social documentary. But unlike the work of traditional documentarians who make claims of objectivity and verisimilitude, Schonfeld uses this style to speak of her personal spiritual quest. Natalie Schonfeld is a native of Caracas, Venezuela who has lived in Toronto since 1991.
