Bio
Zoi de la Peña is a mixed-race photographer re-developing her practice after a long hiatus. Returning primarily to analog methods, she is drawn to capturing the emotion presented by a moment, object, scene, or place. Her work often dialogues with longing, nostalgia, intimacy, and impermanence, experimenting with techniques such as lumen printing and Polaroid lifts. She has been a member of Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography since 2021. Her series, "Alexandria, First Impressions", was featured in the Contact Photography Festival as part of Spectra in 2023. In 2025, she debuted her series, "An Invitation to Sit", at Gallery 44 as part of the exhibit "Frame of Absence".
