Salomeh A
Biography
When I was 15, I played with my first film camera, along with subsequent darkroom sessions, in a workshop at the community centre near where I lived. Since then, film photography has become a passion. An aesthetic capturing through an individual lens - mine. A way to immortalize a single moment that reverberates with feeling, or a story, or memories.
I have never taken any formal teachings of photography (in school), but just went along with it, learning as I grew and experimenting. After being presented in Contact for two years, 2002 and 2003, I took a hiatus from analog and ventured into digital. Since then, I have been busy finishing post secondary and graduated October 2010 with an Honors in Health Science. I have been fortunate to stay connected with the arts through my own time, volunteering and working at my campus photography darkroom over the years. Now I am back at my community centre and I teach other youth, beginners photography classes and darkroom techniques - to share my passion.

Photography is an extension for my creative outlook of the world. I try to capture beautiful, striking and sometimes mundane things. I am also influenced in those ways through reading and writing.
Travel and my love for interesting architecture has led me to build a specific portfolio, but I am currently expanding my portfolio to include people, musicians, and situations more. Keep posted for my upcoming work.
