6:00PM to 9:00PM
$ 50.00 CAD
$ 40.00 CAD

Costa Rican-born, Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist Juan Ortiz-Apuy will walk participants through a presentation on contemporary collage and then facilitate a hands-on collage party for participants!

In what ways can collage be useful for sorting through and understanding contemporary image practices? Ortiz-Apuy will look at our image-saturated world and posit questions about various ways collage can speak critically using physical/metaphorical fragmentation and absurdist juxtapositions.

His solo exhibition “The Garden of Earthly Delights” will open in Gallery 44’s Main Gallery on January 13th.

*Participants are encouraged to bring imagery they would like to use for the collage party. Gallery 44 will also supply basic materials.
