Artist residencies provide the time and space for creative people to reflect, investigate, exhibit and produce in a new context. They also allow artists to meet other like-minded individuals, and work with new materials, while immersed in a new national or international setting within an urban or rural context.  In this three-hours workshop, participants will learn about different kinds of residencies, resources for finding residency programs and calls for submission, as well as tips on how to choose the residency that is best for you. The instructor will go over a sample residency application to discuss how to apply and where to look for funding assistance. Participants are welcome to bring past, current or potential applications and experiences to share and discuss.
