Instructor, Rob Norton will share with participants the knowledge and the history of this antique process, as well as its contemporary uses. This workshop will include: learning how to properly pour a wet-plate using collodion; print tintypes of personal images from positive transparencies using an enlarger; and students will compose and shoot unique portraits of each other utilizing a historical wet-plate camera. At the end of the day, each student will take home his/her own personalized plate tintypes.

Rob Norton is a Toronto-based artist/photographer whose personal creative work embraces several art disciplines, from film and video to collage and painting. Currently, Rob is the Historical Process instructor for the Image Arts Program at Ryerson University.
