in another place, not here explores lived narratives through mapping social location in a visual landscape that is often socially and hierarchically encoded. Through an intersectional feminist gaze; we critically examine how we survive and thrive the complexities of a perceived marginalized existence. Told through multiple voices in analog and digital media work; this work examines what the margins of Toronto feels like from within. Working through a durational process exploring agency, shared space, and voice; this project will culminate in photography, video and writing. This is a collaborative project by Sister Co-Resister lead-artist Pamila Matharu with emerging self-taught practitioners Ashlee Harper, Sylvia Limbana and Flimon Yohannes, who are all based in Scarborough.
