Gallery 44 is looking to expand our roster of photography instructors for our youth and adult education programs. We are seeking expressions of interest from Indigenous photographers (analog and digital) to add to our network of instructors for upcoming teaching and program-building opportunities.
Our objective in building this roster is to support Indigenous youth program participants in finding and working with Indigenous mentors, and to create Indigenous-led programs that explore culturally-specific pedagogy and community-based knowledge.
Gallery 44 provides a wide variety of photography-focused programs for artists in all stages of their careers to learn, create, connect and be inspired. Our programs aim to address the needs of diverse youth and adult learners looking to deepen their understanding of photography and strengthen technical skills.
Gallery 44 is committed to programs that reflect the continuously changing definition of photography by presenting a wide range of practices that engage timely and critical explorations of the medium. Through exhibitions, public engagement, education programs and production facilities our objective is to explore the artistic, cultural, historic, social and political implications of the image in our ever-expanding visual world.
Instructors will be paid in accordance with CARFAC recommended fee schedules.
We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
