G44xBPM Fall Photography Mentorships
Open to BIPOC identifying photographers and artists
Mentorship period: September 7 – December 7, 2021
10 mentor positions available
$500 honorarium paid to mentors
How it Works
- Register: Tell us about yourself, your interests/skills and what you have to offer to join our roster of mentors.
- Get Matched: Based on the selected mentees we will look through our mentor roster for the perfect fit.
- Make a work plan: Together we will find what teaching style and schedule works best for both you and your mentee. Approximately two hours every other week.
- Mentor, mentor, mentor: Work with your mentee to help them grow!
- Give us feedback: Let us know how the mentorship goes. We will check in with you during and after your mentorship to create resources for future mentorship programs at G44, BPM and beyond.
How We Support You
- We will pair you with a mentee that should be a perfect fit for your area or expertise
- We will work with you to plan a mentorship program that works with your schedule and availability while still providing your mentee with a comprehensive experience
- Further support from program administrators and G44 resources as needed
- A $500 honorarium
BIPOC Photo Mentorships Volunteer Mentor Roster
Volunteer mentorships that have varied in structure and content; from fielding business questions by phone, providing on-set opportunities, giving project-specific critique via Zoom and Facetime, offering structured research and shooting assignments, to hosting virtual group-based check-ins and encouragement. Mentors are profiled on the BIPOC Photo Mentorship site and mentees apply directly with them.
