Gallery 44 is a recommender to the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) Exhibition Assistance Program. The program provides grants to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in an exhibition. Grants are made through third-party recommenders (public art galleries, artist-run centres and arts service organizations) throughout the province. Artists must apply directly to a recommender located in the zone in which they live. Approved applications are forwarded to OAC by the recommender once the decision to award a grant has been made.
Grant amounts must be a minimum of $500 and no more than $2,000.
Gallery 44 specializes in photography and prioritizes recommendations for Ontario-based artists with a confirmed exhibition of photography or photo-based work.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ontario-based professional media artists who have a confirmed, upcoming public exhibition. Exhibitions in Ontario, other Canadian provinces and international locations are all eligible. Students enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate level studies are not eligible.
*Applicants no longer need to apply before their exhibition start date. Applicants may apply for exhibitions that start on or after January 14, 2022.

solo and group shows
do-it-yourself (DIY) or self-presented public exhibitions
exhibitions in alternative public locations such as community centres, restaurants or rented spaces
art fairs, collective studio tours and exhibits at trade fairs
Eligible expenses:
presentation costs, including photo printing, framing, display structures, mounting and installation hardware and supplies and construction of structural elements specific to an installation
audio-visual presentation equipment
technical/installation fees
crating and transportation of works of art
exhibition venue rent or booth fee
exhibition promotional expenses
insurance
