Gallery 44’s OUTREACH program breaks down existing barriers to the arts, offering black & white photography workshops to up to 50 youth every year.
Outreach presented me with the opportunity to explore photography on a deeper level. Since my experience with Gallery 44, I walked out searching for similar outreach programs in the city. I am now a walking testament of a photographer that has learned the skills and techniques of photography through Outreach initiatives. I went from being a student to a mentor. I recently had my work exhibited in the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, and I am looking forward to showing more work at the Cultural Hotspot exhibit this June titled "From Scarborough With Love."
Outreach is the start of discovering your potential, and is committed to seeing you succeed. —Ebti Nabag, artist and 2011 OUTREACH participant
This is our fourth year of the Reach out for OUTREACH giving campaign, and this year, we are moving from Canada Helps to indiegogo in order to activate our strong social networks, and connect as many individuals as possible to spread the word about what Gallery 44 does.
