Participants can let their imagination run wild with this fun and playful class. Instructor Phillip chin will teach a step-by-step how to use handheld lights to create light painted images. Colours, textures and streaks of light are created by light painting tools in your photographs. Exposure times can range from a few seconds to a few hours. The instructor will supply all the light tools. Students should bring a camera that has a manual bulb setting, a tripod and cable release.
Phillip Chin is an Canadian editorial photographer who specialized in portrait photography. He has a deep passion for analog processes: specifically wetplate photography and 8x10 Impossible Film. Phillip shares his passion by teaching both analog processes in workshops across Canada. He was recently nominated for the 39th Annual National Magazine Awards for one of his wetplate images.
