The Scarborough Bluffs are a cherished landmark of Toronto that are deteriorating at an accelerating speed. The natural erosion process has been sped up due to a boom in housing units built around the cliff that began in the 70s. Each day a considerable amount of rock is worn off and crashes into Lake Ontario, slowly causing people to displace from their homes. Recently, the city has attempted to curtail this rapid erosion, implementing a variety of techniques. In this series, the photographs of this sublime landmass are captured, deconstructed and eroded in an analogue process, only to be reconstructed. The resulting effect is one that mirrors both the deterioration and the beauty of the Scarborough Bluffs.
