Vert is a series of photos on the colour green. It spans eight years, three continents and six countries. By presenting a pattern within chaos – sameness next to difference – these images weave together a narrative about life. Vert is the second in a continuum of colour based photo series, in my signature street style of photography.
Alice Dixon was born in Toronto, Canada. She holds a degree in Photographic Studies from Ryerson University, and has been photographing locally and internationally for nearly twenty years. Dixon was the Head of Exhibitions and Publications at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography from 2009 to 2013. She is currently a graduate student in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University. The focus of her research is green infrastructure and climate change adaptation through community planning.
