Bio
A first generation Canadian, born in Montréal, now living in Toronto, my camera-based art has been exhibited in Canada as well as in Europe.
I've been associated with artist run galleries both in Montreal and Toronto - Véhicule Art (Montréal) Inc., Toronto Photographers’ Workshop/Photography Gallery, Harbourfront (founding member, chairman of Exhibition Committee) and Gallery 44.
The camera is the closest thing humans have to record events objectively. I keep in mind the precision the camera is capable of, and the unexpected that can occur. I deliberately use those results in my work - double exposure, the blur of camera movement, the assembly of image parts. The process to get to the final image involves several steps—taking the initial photograph, appraising the results, and selecting the images that work. It’s a journey I enjoy, always a discovery at each step.
