Bio
Emma Juliette Sherland has used her own negative experiences as a way to start conversations about her well being and mental health. Sherland has felt that art should have viewers reflect on how negative experiences can become positive if it were from making art in a studio or looking at art in a gallery.
In her practice, Sherland has transformed her negative experiences into positive ones by assembling or dissecting her artwork to find the original
meaning from her subconscious rather than settling for a simpler meaning at face value. For her, every situation is a learning experience and sharing her artwork with others has helped her develop a clearer understanding of how she has been feeling.
