Bio
Seen and Scene is a collaborative platform between two Toronto-based sisters, Farah and Rawya Al Ameen who share a passion for photography, storytelling, and creating visual content.
Eschewing labels, we work best in the overlapping spaces between different artistic disciplines. Our approach to photography is influenced by our work and training in the fields of architecture and design. We capture the joy of shared experience by weaving the fabric of stories into the objects and scenes that we build, design, and photograph. Stories are our medium: human stories, stories of spaces and things, stories to be told and seen.
Seen and Scene was founded in 2019, however the collaboration took root many years ago, in Iraq under the palm trees in our beloved grandfathers’ garden. It was there where we learned to play, wandering the realms of imagination guided by the magic of his storytelling.
