Bio
My name is Liban “Lee” Osman, and the focus of my work is predominantly done through portraiture with a lot of inspirations heavily being derived from music and films/Movies. A lot of my work is inspired by a variety of artists, alot of which is due to, Chi-Modu being a photographer/Artist I heavily admire. Especially growing up to see a lot of his works without really understanding that there was a person behind the camera that took these photos of various musicians I’d grow up listening to their music, seeing their album covers and photos of them in magazines posters etc., and Wong Kar-wai who’s use of exaggerated colours in his film to showcase the mental state of his subjects to conveying a feeling of unease, to an abrupt and dramatic change in mood and tone within a scene, through their work I find elements in their art that I am fond of and try to emulate that through my own work but also showcasing it in a way that’s exclusive to and true to me.
