Heather Canlas Rigg
Heather Canlas Rigg is independent curator and writer based in Toronto. Her practice is rooted in investigating how artists employ the materiality of camera technologies to interrogate imperialist structures, and in thinking critically about institutions.
Canlas Rigg is a 2025 Images Festival Curatorial Resident, a board member of SAVAC, and half of the curatorial collective ma ma. She is currently teaching curatorial courses as part of the Department of Visual Studies at the University of Toronto, Mississauga and has worked with organizations such as Mercer Union - A Centre for Contemporary Art, Gallery TPW, C Magazine, Bomb, esse and Art Papers, among others.
