About Membership
Membership is open to everyone but becoming a member is a step-by-step process. Gallery 44 is committed to building a sustainable and supportive environment for the advancement of contemporary photographic practice. Following our carefully developed membership procedure is important to realizing this goal.
Gallery 44 is a small organization; members are expected to use the facilities independently. Gallery 44 offers several services to support our members in their artistic development, including one-on-one workshops and portfolio reviews.
Members shape the Gallery 44 community. We ask members to volunteer at various activities and to attend openings, public programs, and events. Getting involved in different levels of the organization offers members an opportunity to strengthen our organization and to belong to a larger arts community in Toronto and beyond.
Gallery 44's membership has grown substantially over the past 12 months, with 550 active artists and photographers within our community! Gallery 44 has paused membership admission as we review how best to serve our growing membership while maintaining the quality and access to member services, production facilities and monthly events. We will begin to accept a limited number of new applications on April 30, 2024.
$190 per year
$135 for full-time students/65+ seniors
This membership level provides 24/7 access to Gallery 44’s production facilities. Full members receive all member benefits as well as promotional discounts on equipment rentals and framing orders and access to the 401 Richmond Rooftop Garden.
$110 per year
$75 for full-time students/65+ seniors
This membership provides access to Gallery 44’s production facilities during Gallery 44’s office hours only, Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Day members receive all member benefits.
$60 per year
This non-voting membership level is for artists, supporters, writers and curators who are interested in supporting Gallery 44, attending events and volunteering, but are not intending to use the facilities or exhibit in the members gallery spaces.
